We met our lock mates for the day on M\V Navy Lady and had a leisurely breakfast before heading the mile to Lock 9 to get an early start for the 9 am opening. We were the only two boats on the blue line dock so we quickly got through the lock and continued on following them until the flight of two locks, 11 and 12. We pulled over to spend the night on the wall and they continued on. From this location we could walk to Ranney Falls, cross suspension bridge, hike through Ferris Provincial Park and follow the Rotary Trail into the town of Campbellford. We found lunch at an Austrian pub with schnitzel and a jerk curry chicken rodie and the local brewery beers. We found the Dollerama Store, Dooher's Bakery, The Chocolate Factory which now you have to go to Sharpe's Grocery for the chocolate and we found the liquor store and got sidetracked and then stopped at the Canadian Tire. We missed the farmer's market and decided not to tramp back into town for the Melodies in the Park at Old Mill Park starting at 6:30 pm. The Chamber of Commerce had power and water sites all along the river walls and we expected it to be full but only had a few looper boats. We walked about 6 miles and were happy to chill out on the fly bridge and eat the take home from lunch as they were huge meals.
