Last evening, we got caught in a thunderstorm while we were cooking our low-country boiled shrimp on the courtesy propane grill on the Boater's Dock. It finally blew past and only a faint sprinkle as we dashed back to the boat. We woke up to a gray day on Thursday as we walked back to the Schoolhouse Restaurant for breakfast and then waited for the Post Office to open to mail back our signed forms. The rain held off as we stopped at CVS Pharmacy and then got back to the dock for a pump-out, filling our water tanks and dumping garbage, and then we were away from the dock headed up the Beaufort River. We went past the Beaufort City Marina, under the Lady's Island Swing Bridge, and up Factory Creek to the furthest anchorage. We had trouble getting the anchor to set so we kept moving up to a beautiful spot waiting on the thunderstorms predicted for today to pass our snug harbor. We enjoyed the luxury of being at the dock for three nights at Safe Harbour Port Royal Landing Marina.
