We had a quiet evening in the anchorage at Herb River after the jet skiers and boats headed back to the boat ramp down from us and the sun went down. We got an early start heading towards Beaufort, South Carolina. We were the only boat out for most of the trip along the Intracoastal and had a few rain showers that did not last long. There was major ship traffic as we crossed the Savannah River. The wind picked up against the current making it choppy as we headed across Port Royal Sound. We headed to the outside fuel dock of Safe Harbour Port Royal Landing Marina and then the boat was walked back to our spot in front of huge yachts. It's a hike up to the office, bathhouse and captain's dock lounge, and restaurant but the marina is surrounded by beautiful trees and houses. We walked about two blocks to Agave Mexican Grill for an excellent late lunch then stopped at Ace Hardware, West Marine, Piggly Wiggly, and CVS Pharmacy all within two blocks of the marina, A great breakfast place, and the Post Office is just a mile in the other direction down from the Advanced Auto Store. A cruiser's dream of having it all within a short walk. We plan to stay here for two nights to receive a mail shipment.

We got up early when the yacht engine next to us on the dock roared on as he was a delivery captain and eager to be on the way out in the ocean 200 plus miles to Southport. We walked to Corner Perk Port Royal Cafe for breakfast. Quaint group of businesses in the old railroad buildings. We then hiked the Cypress Wetlands Boardwalk around the rookery and spotted birds, turtles, and alligators. A trip to Advanced Auto for a new starting battery. We also made another shopping trip to Ace Hardware and Piggly Wiggly ending the day washing the boat. After a nice long shower and happy hour on the Boater's Lounge Deck, we started laundry while we enjoyed dinner at Marker 222 Restaurant. It was trivia night and we enjoyed the entertaining couples around us. No package so we'll stay another night.

Trying to beat the heat, we got up early and walked to the Old Schoolhouse Restaurant for breakfast. We brought our birding binoculars and walked the Cypress Wetlands trail again. We headed back by Piggly Wiggly for the fixings for Low Country Shrimp Boil of corn on the cob and shrimp boil spices and stopped to get shrimp from Mr. Tony at CJ Seafood Express. for dinner on the dock tonight.
