We left the anchorage at Little Lake in Peterborough to the wall at Lock 20 at Ashburnham for breakfast and then were in the first lock through at 9 am. The next Lock 21 is the Peterborough Lift Lock which is the most famous as it takes the boat up in a pan for a view of 65 feet high. It is pretty amazing that this lock was built in 1906 and they had the technology to lift boats up and down stream simultaneously in two pans. We went on through Lock 22 at Nassau Mills, Lock 23 at Otonabee, Lock 24 Douro, Lock 25 Sawyers Creek, Lock 26 Lakefield and on to Lock 27 Young's Point. We visited the Lockside Trading Company and enjoyed the local ice cream. We walked across the dam and back across the pedestrian suspension bridge that kids were jumping of off. We had a very persistent fisherman fishing in front of our boat as we enjoyed the breeze on the fly bridge.
