Palisades to Half Moon Marina, Croton-on-Hudson, New York

We had a pleasant evening with a cool breeze off the Hudson River in the midst of the heat wave. We decided to cruise on up to Half Moon Marina where we will stay for the weekend and stay out of weekend traffic. We had the high cliff of the Palisades to our left and Bush Mountain and a beautiful smooth ride up the Hudson River. We took the cart and  got our propane tanks refilled as they are small custom tanks and not exchangeable. We found a six-pack of beer at a gas station and checked out was is called boater's town since all the businesses are within 2.5 miles of the marina. We located the laundromat to do laundry on Sunday.  A huge thunderstorm rolled through with plenty of rain around 4 pm so we were glad to be snug at the dock.

On Saturday morning we got an early start to walk to Colonial Restaurant diner for breakfast and then on to the ShopRite grocery store which had an amazing selection. We walked the opposite way from yesterday and passed through Croton Point Park and the train station all with good paths and sidewalks. There is zero wind today so it is stifling hot at 86 that feels like 96 degrees.

On Sunday we walked back to Croton Colonial Restaurant Diner for breakfast.  In Havre de Grace, Dorothy got a probable tick bug bite that got red and swollen so we went to Urgent Care in Cape May and got an oral antibiotic and steroid cream. In a week's time, it was still red and swollen so we took an Uber ride to Urgent Care near Croton. The physicain's assistant prescribed the antibiotic that would be used to treat Lyme's Disease and drew blood for Lyme's Disease testing and said the steroid cream was inhibiting it from healing so to stop that. We then took an Uber back to the CVS near the marina to pick up the prescription and stopped in the favorite local  pub called Croton Tapsmith for a beer. Due to the heat wave, they did not have their wood burning oven for pizzas so the bartender suggested the Mexican restaurant next to the laundromat for a late lunch. We walked back to the boat to pick up laundry and the cart and enjoyed the best street tacos under their umbrella while we could check on the laundry. It was sweltering hot and we dashed back to the boat just before the rain blew through. The next thunderstorm passed us by so we finally got a shower at the marina and then chilled out in the air conditioning planning to leave on Monday.
