The wake from a crabber boat woke us up at daybreak. We wanted an early start so we made coffee and pulled anchor. A motor yacht anchored near the mouth of the bay followed us out. It started raining along with thunder as we turned north. We cruised at a high speed to get into Solomons before the wind and chop picked up. It rained hard as we turned up the river but it stopped raining by the time we wound around to Mill Creek where we anchored last summer. We are in a quiet spot surrounded by homes with private docks. The rain started up again as predicted so we had a ham and cheese wrap on the boat with our first anchors down beer. We plan on going into town by dinghy tomorrow for lunch and spending another night here waiting on weather to improve.

On Thursday morning Glenn made his wonderful corned beef and hash with scrambled eggs and we enjoyed breakfast on the fly bridge. We then took off in the dinghy and landed at the public dock next to the Maryland Sailing School. We headed off to Annamarie Sculpture Gardens and Art Center. What a beautiful path through the woods past sculptures, banners, carvings and fairy art. We walked the treemendous trail and through the children's section with playground. Back to the art center we toured the nature niche for kids, the gift shop and more paintings from the Hirshhorn Museum in DC. On our way back we shopped at West Marine and the liquor store before eating lunch at Island Hideaway. Because if the forecasted rain they were not serving in the deck and we made it back to the boat without seeing rain. We dinghied past the boat to the end of Mill Creek admiring the waterfront homes. It looks like good travel weather to Rock Hall tomorrow.
