We waved goodbye to the cruisers and hope to meet up again in Vero Beach City Marina or at Archies in Fort Pierce. It was a short cruise down to Elliott Key as you could see it from Pumpkin Key. We anchored closer to the north end near Sand Key. We dinghied into the harbor and only saw one skiff and a small tent along with a Park Ranger boat. We put on our bug screen shirts and took the trail to the beach. We rock hopped along the beach where the boardwalk washed away until it joined back up with the other trail. We found two sea heart beans and a palm nut that look like a monkey face. The mosquitoes attacked as we raced back to the dock and took off down to the pass recalling last time that the sandbar was exposed at high tide. This was the first sandy beach we have seen since Naples and our first walk.
