Dog Island to Steinhatchee, Florida

The fog rolled in last evening and was thick when we got up this morning. We left at daybreak and headed out the east side of Dog Island and retraced part of our path to Saint Mark's and then headed southeast to Steinhatchee. Around 10 am the Gulf of Mexico got glassy calm and by noon the fog bank lifted to blue sky. We only saw one dive boat and one sailboat on the first half of the passage. Within 15 miles of Steinhatchee we ran into crab pots galore and it was like a slalom course dodging them along with the small fishing boats. We followed a parade of rental boats up the channel to Sea Hag Marina and got fuel and then moved to another T-head dock for the night. The tiki bar is hopping and the dock guys are busy cleaning fish. It's a lively Saturday night. We enjoyed an "anchors down" beer on the flybridge before the no-seeum bugs chased us below. We were excited to see a porpoise jump clear out of the water in front of the boat.
