We started early at daybreak on our road trip to meet up with S/V Pamela Crew, Pam and Bob in Apalachicola for breakfast at Cafe Con Leche on the riverfront for outdoor dining and a delicious breakfast burrito. We walked around town before heading to Eastpoint for the nature trail at the Apalachicola National Estuarine Research Reserve. Due to the pandemic the nature center and aquarium were closed. Next stop was the Camp Gordon Johnson Museum in Carrabelle Beach with a special exhibit on canines in the war and historical cartoon artists. Back in Carrabelle for lunch, we finally got a chance to eat at the Taste of Korea food truck and brought our lunch over to the deck under the Captain's Lounge. Next we were off to the Forgotten Coast en Plein Air Paint out at Marine Drive with internationally acclaimed artists documenting the last vestige of authentic Old Florida. We finished the day by stopping at Lost Treasure Vintage Art Gallery with the special hurricane exhibit. Pam and Bob drove off with our car as we plan to leave The Moorings tomorrow for Dog Island and then the next morning head across the gulf to Steinhatchee staying at Sea Hag Marina and then stopping at Cedar Key and Crystal River on our way around the Big Bend.
