We left Kilbear Provincial Park early Sunday morning of the three day weekend with the Canadian Civic Day Holiday headed for Snug Harbour. We were the only anchored boat as we got there before noon. We took the dinghy up the creek to Gillies's Restaurant and were lucky to get a table because it was early and most everyone had reserved a table. We had the best seafood chowder and blackened fish tacos and a great apple crisp with vanilla ice cream for dessert. Later in the evening we took the dinghy to the government dock at the lighthouse to find that it had been closed and turned over to the city. Only one other boat come into the inner anchorage so we were surprised to have the harbour to ourselves.
