We left the anchorage at Gloucester Pool through the Narrows to Mile 240.4 Lock 45 Port Severn. We pulled up to the blue line dock with help from the sailboat couple. This is smallest lock so we had to wait for the third lock through to let other large boats waiting to go through first. As we left Port Severn there was a tricky turn with current through Highway 400 Bridge followed in a couple of miles with the narrow twisting Potato Channel that you had to announce a security call as you passed through and we did meet a boat waiting for us to come through. Finally we were in the open waters of Midland Bay headed to Midland Harbour Town Dock. We tied up against the wall which had picnic tables under a pavilion and the office with private boaters showers and a laundry. We headed into town for lunch at Test Batches Brewery. We had their barbeque special and two craft brews. We came back to marina and then followed the bike path to Bay Port Yachting Services Marine where we picked up the necessary nautical charts for Lake Huron.
