Ware River to Bryant Bay on Severn River off Mobjack Bay, Virginia

After a delightful day touring Gloucester, we pulled anchor as we were a bit in the channel and decided to move on to the Severn River. It was choppy out on Mobjack Bay which opens to the Chesapeake Bay but as we headed up the Severn River, the chop died down and we are anchored in Bryant Bay near a boat landing in First School Creek. There is one moored sailboat here.

It started raining early Friday morning and rained all day stopping in the afternoon with more threatening rain clouds. We waited until Saturday morning to put the dinghy down and cruise up First School Creek which had a public landing. The beach was a stretch of mud between two rock jetties and the boat launch was a dirt road and no ladder on the dock. It was low tide so we just cruised around and then hoisted the dinghy and headed out to Mobject Bay and then up the North River.
