Prince Creek to St. James Marina near South Port, North Carolina

We woke up to birds chirping and a sunny day to continue up the Waccamaw River past Myrtle Beach Barefoot Landing and through two swing bridges stopping short of South Port at St. James Marina. This is a beautiful private marina surrounded by houses and town homes in a hurricane hole off the ICW. It turns out we have stopped here before. We took a bottle of wine out the marina walkway to the pavilion overlooking the ICW for happy hours   With power at the dock we made our Naan bread pizza and a quesadilla for dinner saving ourselves for breakfast at the Beacon 315 Marina Restaurant.

It was a cozy night with temperatures requiring a blanket with the windows open at the dock. We got up early for a shower and were the first to be served breakfast on the outside deck of the marina restaurant overlooking the docks. We then took the nature trail by the marina over to the park and walked out the pier to the ICW kayak launching ramp with a pretty pavilion overlooking the ICW. Since we ran out of beer on the boat we went to the marina restaurant for a brew and shared a crab spinach cream cheese dip with crostini bread that was outstanding. We took another hike around the neighborhood of beautiful homes before taking a shower and starting laundry while enjoying a bottle of wine on the patio deck overlooking the marina.
