We left Tarpon Basin which was an excellent all around protected anchorage except for the lack of dinghy access to shore. We went out the intracoastal passage and headed across Blackwater Sound and read about taking a dinghy through the canal to the state park which sounded interesting for another time. We were headed to Gilbert's Resort Marina for fuel and water and to dump garbage and had another PDQ catamaran named Vagabond from Islamorada come up to the dock for lunch as we were departing. As we headed through the channel to Barnes Sound we are back in deeper water where we have been in our sailboat.

The wind has picked up so we took off in the dinghy along the shore headed to Alabama Jacks for lunch with only the one stretch of open water near the bridge. There was a line to get in and we ended up at a table in front of the guitar player and enjoyed a few Landshark beers and fried fish and coconut shrimp. A mild rain sprinkled on us as we trolled back and headed part of the way up Steamboat Creek. We caught four barracuda and called it quits.
