We waited for the fog to burn off and headed out for a road trip to hike along the beach trails at the State Park on Saint George Island. We entered Dr. Julian G, Bruce State Park and followed the road to the end and parked in the lot near the restrooms and pavilions. A gate led back to the old road turned into a biking and hiking trail to the end of the island at the pass across to Dog Island. It was a beautiful sunny day and we followed the old road to the pass and then headed back along the gulf side beach doing almost 10 miles. We detoured through the wooded campground and then stopped at the Blue Parrot Restaurant outside the park entrance to eat a late lunch on their gulf side terrace. We were the only ones on the shady deck and had a delicious monster hamburger and a bay scallop basket.
