Hogtown Bayou to Shell Island, Panama City, Florida

We were toasty sleeping last night under three blankets and then cranked up the generator while making coffee to warm up the boat as we need to run the generator routinely anyway. We tried out the Single Side Band Radio and called into the Cruiseheimers Net and we were loud and clear so glad that the installation checked out. We pulled anchor and headed out using the helm inside the cabin where it was warm. We only saw one boat in the Intracoastal cut and otherwise, it was a beautiful sunny day as the winds calmed down so we could head out to Shell Island. There were three pontoon boats here when we arrived and they were gone when we came back from our shell hunting walk on the gulf side beach. It warmed up to a sunny 61 degrees so wading from the dinghy was not too big of a shock.  We are only boat anchored out here with yet another spectacular sunset and calm water. Rain is predicted for tomorrow so we were glad to get our beach walk in.

Welcome to Shell Island

Happy hour on the beach

Double balancing act

Bird sanctuary with beach roped off

The Air Force Preservation Area

Only our footsteps and piles of shells

Back to the boat in time to capture the sunset over the Gulf
