Reedville to Godfrey Bay in Piankatank River, Deltaville, Virginia

The courteous waterman went slowly past us before daybreak but it was enough wake to awaken us anyway. We cruised out the Great Wicomico River into the bay and south past Sting Ray Point to the Piankatank River. We spotted an anchorage across from Fishing Bay in Godfrey Bay along a deserted beach where we anchored and cooked breakfast. We are across from the entrance to Jackson Creek and Deltaville Marina and Boatyard. The wind picks up the next couple of days so we decided we would check out the facilities here and be able to walk the town and see what has changed since we were here last. We dinghied into Jackson Creek Marina, the old Deltaville Marina to check on our dockage and boatyard work order and went through the twisty markers at the entrance to Jackson Creek. We then dinghied over to the Maritime Museum and checked out the dinghy dock planning to return another day. The wind had picked up as predicted and it was a bouncy ride back.
