Big Pine Key to Channel Key, Florida

It was a good thing that we moved down to Big Pine Key for the night as the wind was howling when we woke up this morning. There was only one other liveaboard boat in the anchorage and the few local crabbers and fisherman about. We had a lovely day relaxing and waited until the winds died down around 2 pm to head past Marathon to Channel Key. We are the only boat anchored off the island where many birds are roosting. We spotted frigate birds soaring up high, with pelicans, egrets, herons and cormorants roosting on the mangroves. We enjoyed dinner on the flybridge until nightfall as the bugs did not run us off.
